Rochester, NY (USA), December 3, 2018 – Acuity Polymers, Inc. announced today that it has acquired the full range of Lagado contact lens materials from Menicon America.
Lagado Corporation will cease operations and the manufacture of the Lagado materials will be moved to Acuity Polymers in Rochester, NY. The acquisition of Lagado’s GP and soft contact lens materials by Acuity Polymers will enable Acuity Polymers to broaden its product range and customer base. This will help Acuity Polymers expand its global presence in the custom contact lens materials market.

Lagado's products are well known and respected in the industry. It is Acuity Polymers’ intention to continue the supply of these well-established materials, utilizing Acuity Polymers’ advanced polymer manufacturing platform.

“Acuity Polymers is deeply committed to the custom contact lens industry and is actively developing new and innovative polymers for custom lens applications, particularly where hyper-Dk materials are called for. The Lagado product line provides a way for Acuity Polymers to expand its connection to the community of specialty contact lens fitters and labs in North America and beyond." commented Jim Bonafini, President of Acuity Polymers.

“We are very pleased to integrate the Lagado materials into Acuity Polymers to broaden the Acuity Polymers product line. We will continue to offer the full range of Lagado materials, and maintain the important relationships that Lagado has established over twenty years,” added Jonathan Jacobson, CEO of Acuity Polymers, Inc. Lagado materials are available now from Acuity Polymers.
